It work – today we knew about a PS5 restock and instant sent the information to our Twitter followers so that they could buy the console before anyone else. Other restock locations in the US got the same treatment this week, including Target, Sam's Club, Antonline and Sony Direct. There was no Walmart PS5 restock this week, but we should see more stock next week, while Amazon is suspiciously overdue.

Next Best Buy PS5 restock date

• Probability: 75% for next week, Friday, April 2

We just saw the PS5 Best Buy restock today, and that means the electronics retailer is 6-for-6 on restocking the Sony console on Fridays. We caution that PS5 inventory is still – and we've only seen PS5 Disc for the past two weeks. There was a 0% chance of a PS5 Digital Edition restock, according to our restock tracker, and that was correct.

Our restock Twitter tracker will alert you if it happens next week. The PS5 restock date and time should be Friday, April 2 at 12pm EDT – or soon after.

Best Buy PS5 restock tips

Buying the PS5 at Best Buy isn't easy. Basically, you need to click on the yellow 'Add to Cart' button, wait for the greyed out button to cycle through (it can take a while) and turn yellow again. Click it to add to your cart again and check out as quickly as possible. Jake Randall, YouTuber and restock tracker aficionado, has excellent PS5 restock tips in this video.

Maybe the most important thing to keep in mind is to have patience. We receive thousands of replies from people who check the link and give up instantly saying 'Sold out.' Inventory happens in waves at PS5 retailers, and giving up too soon is the biggest mistake we see people make.

Amazon PS5 restock date

Our white whale. Amazon is overdue for a PS5 restock, but nothing is ever confirmed at the online retail giant. We were sent information that a restock was scheduled for Thursday, March 18 with 46,000 consoles up for grabs, but that was last week. The Amazon PS5 restock date clearly got shifted – and we're not sure why. Amazon did have Xbox inventory already this week. Maybe it'll offload those 46,000 console in inventory next week. But really, who knows?

The next Walmart PS5 restock date

The next Walmart PS5 restock date may be Thursday, April 1, according to the recent pattern that the retailer has followed with its PS5 drops. We didn't see a restock this week for the PS5 (only Xbox Series X restock via Microsoft's All Access bundle). While we think Walmart may stick to its pattern, we also know takes the longest of any retailer to ship the console to consumers, so this one is far from confirmed.

Target PS5 restock date

• Potential PS5 restock date: Thursday, April 8

Target employees have been the best at tipping us off at when there will be a PS5 restock, and it seems to be happening every two weeks and right on time. It's always been in the morning, recently between 7am EDT and and 9am EDT. Be warned, the PS5 restock time can fluctuate beyond that too, judging from past Target PS5 orders at launch, but it hasn't changed too much recently. Like Walmart, Target inventory has been light, but two weeks should be enough catch-up time for the retailer.

Antonline PS5 restock

Antonline has publicly stated that it has 'drops every week' and since it just offered a PS5 bundle on Thursday, March 25, we're not anticipating another restock of the PlayStation 5 until next week. Note: Antonline tends to sell out in three minutes, but when it goes on sale, there are no waves or in stock/out of stock funny business with the add to cart button.

Sony's official stores restocks more often than any single retailer and it uses a lottery system to keep things fair – and keep bots at bay. You need a PSN account and it's one PS5 console per household. With a virtual queue that's randomized, we're always 'in line' for the PS5 and attempting to reach checkout. About every other week, we can get through (but we never completely buy PS5 – just going through the motions for reporting purposes).

Sam's Club and Costco PS5 restock

We've seen Sam's Club and Costco PS5 restock activity each week, but inventory at these US wholesale retailers is always unannounced and extremely limited. Costco requires to be a member to buy a PS5, while Sam's Club tries to lure you into buying a membership – or allows you to sign up as a guest. At both stores, the PS5 restock lasts about five minutes or less, especially after we tweet about it via our Twitter tracker. But five minutes is a lifetime in this game.

By using Twitter, Best Buy is able to tie all of their marketing pieces of the puzzle together, by posting blog updates, product releases, new promotions/offers, new store location, and more. Not only can Best Buy enthusiasts keep up with updates, but Best Buy is using Twitter as a customer service tool, responding to unhappy and satisfied customers.Just like any other brand or company, Best Buy can listen to what is being said about @BestBuy and respond if appropriate.

They have also taken advantage of using a custom Best Buy background, that shows off employees, along with urls to all of their social media outlets.Another great way to build branding and awareness of their other social sites.

What better way is there to have REAL customers, connect with REAL employees. If an employee was able to help out a potential customer with a tech question, you can almost count on them to visit their local Best Buy store to pick up the product. Again, giving that level of personal touch is another fantastic way to engage their customers.
