All mouse movements and keyboard signals are transferred from the local computer directly to the remote computer over the network (via LAN or Internet), relaying the graphical screen updates back in the other direction. Radmin Server uses the mirror driver (also known as video hook driver) to read the remote screen bypassing video display controller. Mirror driver allows to read only changing parts of the screen.

Security[edit]

Tlauncher

Radmin security options include:

  • Advanced 256-Bit AES strong encryption of all data streams.
  • Ability to use either Windows Security or Radmin Security.
  • Windows security supports different permissions for specific users or user groups from a Primary Domain, Trusted Domains and the Active Directory. Supports automatic use of logged-in user credentials and Kerberos authentication.[8]
  • Radmin security supports different permissions for the users added to the Radmin Server access list. Radmin uses a new Diffie-Hellman based key exchange with 2048-bit key size for secure user authentication.[9]
  • IP Filter permits access to Radmin Server only from specified IP addresses and networks.
  • DNS name and user name info added to the logfile.
  • Smart protection from password guessing.

Limitations[edit]

One limitation is that when connected to a remote computer the remote keyboard layout is always used. This means typing some characters on your local keyboard could result in the wrong character being printed on the remote computer.[10]

In comparison with some competitors another limitation of Radmin use is the inability to work with a remote computer that has a private IP address (by passing NAT).[11] X mplayer for mac os.
